Dalliance

  • Race: Human
  • Gender: Female
  • Class: Magic User
  • Level: 10
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Dalliance is a happy-go-lucky free spirit, tall and slender, sporting the red hair and green eyes that often mark a witch, happy to roam the lands with little thought for the future.

Dalliance had the misfortune of being a woman in the land of Thay. Although her brothers rose to power and by joining the Red Wizards of Thay, her attempts to learn the arts were continually rebuffed. Feeling stifled by the rules and hierarchy that governs the lands of Thay, she used her family’s wealth to hire private tutors that schooled her in the mysteries of magic. When she showed her skills to her family, her family treated her like a pariah – dismayed and embarrassed by her refusal to adhere to the proper social customs. Exiled to the North, Dalliance has found that the wild and lawless nature of the lands suits her and her free spirit. Her spendthrift ways have left her with little in the way of permanent resources, but she has had a plethora of fine experiences and has seen a number of the northern lands.

Following her latest stint as an employee, she has once again decided that being a free agent might prove to be more fun and flexible. Word has filtered out of an eccentric group of individuals that operates out of a ramshackle ‘town’ in the hinterlands of the back-country. She has traveled to see the ‘town’ – if it can be called such – and has found the group depleted and in need of magical assistance. There is no chauvinism in Thudheim, and that suits her just fine.

Barada

  • Race: Half Elf
  • Gender: Male
  • Class: Bard – 8th level
  • Thief – 8th level
  • Fighter – 7th level
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil

Barada was well aware of his differences from the rest of the village folk rather early on. The taunts and jeers of the locals did nothing to improve his views on the value of humans and it was not long before he hired himself out to the first merchant company he could find in order to escape the wretched town. The mayhem that followed in the next few decades of his life convinced him that there were easier ways to garner riches aside from fighting, and they also taught him that not all humans are to be despised. Drawing on his contacts along the Sword Coast, Barada entered the life of a sneak thief and highwayman – plundering and burgling his way across the North. With the upheaval that followed the Demonwars and the rapid reduction in ‘thieveable’ wealth, Barada discovered a knack for telling a tale. One thing led to another, and he was back in the woods near his birth village, seeking counsel from the local Druid Council. Now he spends his time in the pursuit of knowledge, a few fine tales (maybe a fine gem or two) and adventure – but on his terms. Hearing the tales of a fellow named Thud and his band of companions led him to seek out the town known as Thudheim. As luck would have it, a new band is forming…
