Stark raving terror…just like the good ole days!

As the shimmering fades, the group is in a short hallway facing a door adorned with a symbol of a white hand. The door is investigated and the smell of perfume wafts from beyond the closed portal. The party wheels about and begins to explore in the other direction. They travel a short distance then enter a huge vaulted hallway. Inexplicably, Demming pauses to detect thoughts and is alarmed to sense malignant intelligence nearby – so nearby that he barely has time to croak out a warning before a trio of invisible stalkers assaults Barada, Demming and Dalliance. Barada is savaged and so is Demming. Dalliance is struck unconscious and is slain by the attacker. Luckily her ring of nine lives is still functioning, and she leaps off the ground in terror, alive but without spells...

Dopplewanger! -or- Reach-around Ron’j!

Once the party has descended and disembarked from the elevator, as the device rises upwards into the darkness, the group appoints Barada pointman and off they go. Barada bitches about being placed in the lead – but he is reminded of his invincible armor and insane strength, plus the fact that he is the only one with a chance to detect traps. That doesn’t do much for the attitude, but he does take the front. The group travels about 50 feet, finds a secret door that baffles all but the plucky hobbit, enters and slays three drunken orcs. The orcs are drinking and dicing in a room full of counterfeit goods and speaking tubes that lead to who-knows-where. In the midst of the crates is a rack with a suit of shining chainmail and a equally shining blade...

The group resets time and re-ponders the issues at hand. Shall the party re-engage the jungle dwelling magician and his snakefolk allies? Shall the group go take on the ‘god’ of the fogfolk? Shall the group return to the fire giants to seek out he Drow and engage them? Maybe the group could use their high level wizard to go beat up some mongrelfolk? A sense of ennui settles over the group. As they sit by their campfire, the bard leaves through the magical atlas they kiped from one poor foe or another. He looks at the various lands and reads the entries regarding the basic information about each...

He who laughs last gets Bombarded

Feeling somewhat disgruntled, the group tries again to gain some reward from this farglebargling jungle city. They circle around the perimeter and head towards the large lake that sits against the eastern side of the sunken landscape. They notice a pair of snakemen guarding the main road entering the city…one small and armored, one huge and armored, The group makes note and continues to circle, avoiding the occasional foraging group of mongrelfolk. Scouts report that there is something huge in the lake – a la Nessie – of even which the large crocodiles seem afraid. Eventually they descend along the cliff face and into the water. Water Breathing and Airy Water ensure that the trip is nice, although muddy as they slog along the bottom of the lake...

Bungle in the jungle or bungholed in the junghole

Deciding that the last visit to the deepest darkest jungles wasn’t scary enough – what with magic resistant flesh-eating tiger men and what not – they decide for a repeat performance and return tot he deep jungle that they traversed when they encountered the swath of destruction referenced here: [https://dndblog.com/2011/02/#]. Venturing in the same general direction brings them into contact with a large city in the process of being swallowed by the jungles and an ever expanding swamp.
