The bard has returned with henchmen as well – henchfolk? – and between the three of them they bear some most interesting news as well. In the furthest reaches of the Lurkwood, there exist a trio of ruined towers long left untouched. Some barbarians fleeing the destruction of Hellgate Keep apparently wandered into the area – most perished, but enough survived for the tale to escape to the outside world. They speak of huge amounts of golden treasures scattered about the area and deadly encounters with the forest elves. This information is at least 1 year old…

Back in Thudheim a new group forms. Along with Thud, Max and Greenleaf, new members include an elven bard named Zappa, a barbarian named DaNog, an orange robed monk named Ronj and a mysterious human cleric. The newly formed group decides to cut their teeth on a small adventure and set out to deal with a band of orcs. Down the staircase from the surface, the group stops on the second level and proceed down a hallway that is partially collapsed. The magicians and clerics cast spells of detect magic and detect traps and the group begins checking many doors. At the far corner of the hallway magic is detected buried in the rubble. Rounding the corner the group proceeds down another hall and discover a secret door. Inside Thud finds a partially buried skeleton with a magical ring on its finger. Thud retrieves the ring and proceeds on through another secret door.

He also purchases an 8,000 gp star sapphire to present to the priestess along with the staff. Her reaction to his proposition is met with astounding enthusiasm and she mates with Skilver on the spot.
One month later a ceremony is held and the devil appears and mates with the witch. Skilver is forbidden to attend but is blessed by the devil for his part. He is granted a +1 on reaction to devils the bane being that he also attracts attention from the very good.
