Elulyn advocates vigorously for keeping the airship. Yes it is impractical as a conveyance and yes it makes additional precautions necessary, but how cool is it to float around in your own zeppelin boat?
As the sun starts to rise, they realize they are far out to sea, with the possibility of as landmass far to the north. They adjust the sails and close the vents to gain some altitude, then spend a few days drifting in that direction. BY cover of darkness, a landing party leaves the airship and sets down in this foreign land. Elulyn summons some mounts and he, Justicar and Mr. T ride out.
They make contact with a camp of stonecutters who seem perfectly fine with random wanderers coming up on them out of the darkness. The conversation is polite and informative, and the group learns where they are – and that turns out to be several thousand miles from home.
Still, they are here now – so after parting ways with the stonecutters, Elulyn teleports the group back to the ship. They work under the assumption that the Oathbreaker was heading somewhere with the ship and vampire crew, so they adjust the sails and set out to investigate the open sea.
Between Malchor’s eagle eyes and Kikko’s ability to commune with nature, they eventually find their way to a small prominence that protrudes from the sea. It is wrapped in a column of darkness and there are no apparent locations to dock the airship. Divination spells fail, so it would seem that the occupant is jealously guarding its privacy. Indeed, the front door looks like it is guarded by an undead giant – which is promptly disintegrated by Malchor. A key tumbles out of the giant’s remains.
They descend to the lowest point above the waves and dock the ship with a crude anchor to keep it in place. They pick up the key and advance towards the large entry doors. The key is deployed and the door is swung open. Sitting across the room is a decidedly lichlike figure…
