Returning to the froggy temple, the croaking frog and subsequent entrance of the party reveals a temple complex apparently deserted. The slowly bloating bodies of the priests the party dispatched during their escape are still on the floor. The rest of the place seems quiet and the cleric opines that everyone has bugged out.
*shrug*
Back down the stairs and back to the prison and a scanning of the prisoners by the paladins present a slight dilemma. Two of the captives are clearly tainted by evil. But they are helpless prisoners….hmm. Eventually a plan is hatched. The good aligned are escorted back to the steamy cave, and the evil prisoners are provided with a smashed lock and a stern warning. If encountered, they will be slain.
Over the next few days the mage uses his magics to teleport the non-evil prisoners back to the ferry landing. As they depart, the cleric gives them some gold to get them started back on their journey.
With that accomplished the cave stay is uneventful save the possible will o wisp sighting – and perhaps a Nessie of sorts – the group returns to the froggy temple.,
They poke about, detecting traps and magic in copious amounts. They also encounter an ogre (swiftly dispatched) and some bedraggled harpies are slain as well.
As the group presses on they encounter some sort of tomb for clerics – apparently – but as they enter, a massive patch pf green slime falls upon the Lad and partially digests him. The offending slime is burned off and powerful magic is deployed to return him to his unslimed form.
They pause a moment then resume exploration, with a few more upward glances than before.
