Hurdy Gurdy

The druids return to Thudheim from Neverwinter. After adventure research, the party decides to head for the desert city on a lead for the dragon mountain. Upon arrival they stay at Crusty’s Tavern. Information is obtained and the group leaves the city for an outlying town named Harkurs Ferry. There in a small tavern they obtain information to seek out Lothar in Twin forks. He apparently has been to and has information regarding the Dragon Mountain. Max follows an individual leaving the tavern and the town. He discovers an ambush being set for the group just outside of Twin Forks. Max returns with the info and the party departs prepared. When they arrive, Greenleaf casts creeping doom and orders the mystical death to sweep the ambush area. All are killed and the party moves on into Twin Forks.
The group inquires as to where to find Lothar. As they approach they are caught in another ambush. Ice storm and cone of cold are cast and many attackers are frozen. Most of the attackers are killed, a female magic user lies died in the street, and the others flee. Lothar has fled his residence.
Shares, the newest member of the EFK, cuts a hole in the head of the dead magic user. He removes a portion of brain and begins chanting a spell. He then eats the portion of brain and gains some of the knowledge of the dead magic user.
The group takes the Lothar residence for the evening. Later there is a disturbance heard outside. Lord Ovulus (obviously a paladin) has come to investigate the disturbance. He questions the group and requires that they remain for an inquiry the following day. The party satiates the assumed authority of the do-gooder. In the inquiry, though disapproving of the group in itself, Lord Ovulus must release the efk as they were ambushed and merely defended themselves…
Using the info gained by the Shares brain eating spell, the group travels to another village where they discover that Lothar has stolen and departed in a magical ship that sails over land and sea.
With Lothar gone the group decides to seek other sources of information regarding the dragon mountain. A map is available but the cost is 50,000 gold. Clifford decides that it would be noble and generous to purchase the map for the benefit of the party. After all, he made plenty on copies of the map of the plane of fire…
In the bottom corner of the acquired dragon map there is an image of the amulet that is required for the map to work. With more paid research the group departs to find Gurdy. Supposedly an old woman who knows where to find the amulet. The group meets with Gurday, though some understand that she is not as old and decrepid as she appears. The witch tells the party that they must slay a nine headed hydra and return it’s possessions.
While planning their attack, the party travels to the lair of the hydra. Greenleaf summons an earth elemental and the massive creature enters the lair. Bashes, Booms and a loud Crash is heard from within. The party stands somewhat in amazement and happily surprised that the earth elemental took care of the hydra.
All of the items are returned to Gurdy. The amulet needed for the map is the Amulet of Dragon Warding. It has been split into three pieces. Gurdy sends the group to seek old Cud for information regarding the first shard of the amulet. She warns the group to be kind to the old seer.
It is a three day hike to Shells Head to find Old Cud’s antique shop. Several members enter the antique shop. Max uses charm to convince old cud to let the group search his shop. The shard of amulet is found. Greenleaf touches the crystal to the forehead of old cud and he becomes noticeably younger and in better health. He digs out a sword from the back of the shop and departs with the group.
