Oh yeah…demons suck.

Armed with knowledge and powered by boredom, the group travels to the region where the lair of Blasphemy is said to lie. It turns out to be surprisingly easy. Following thevarious signs (folks buried alive and the like) leads the group to a large cave. There are some ominous signs, including flaming blood weeping from the walls and some infanticide themed statuary. Magic is sought and found, and traps are detected.
Undeterred, the group presses on into another room that fairly reeks of evil. Maybe the statuary, maybe the pool of flaming blood…maybe the gargantuan, magic-wearing gargoyles that try to slay Barada – but this place seems unfriendly. Images of demons adorn most surfaces and the exit from the room of flaming blood reveals a hallway with more of the same adornments. This time there are five doors, and four tapestries depicting a variety of unwelcoming demons.
One of the iron doors is hot to the touch, and Dalliance (now wearing the sphinx crown) casts a ‘Convoluted Logic spell to convince the party to enter. Enter they do and are confronted by a pair of salamanders from the plane of fire. The battle is swift and bloody, but the magic of Dalliance once again helps to turn the tide, holding one monster while the group pummels the other to death. Swift looting follows, and the group presses on in order to maintain the advantage of surprise, just in case the combat has alerted anyone nearby.
The next door chosen leads to a scriptorium, where rows of quasits busiky transcribe. When the withered old drow librarian tries to greet Barada, he is attacked. The quasits go invisible, and the librarian starts casting spells. 30 seconds later he is dead and the party is being mauled by some horror from the abyss. Within seconds, Nil is nulled out, but the beast is disintegrated in short order. The group pauses to resurrect the fallen and tries to decide whether to loot the library or to continue on the cannonball run…
