Navigating the rest of the trapped maze, the group finally encounters the object of their quest so far – The Seer!
The group banters a bit and obtains the next leg of their quest – the retrieve the hilt of a saber from the heart of a volcano. He tries to get Cutter to remain behind with him, but Cutter refuses vehemently. Another dream visitation from the hag trio prompts much discussion in light of their cryptic remarks.Transporting via plants and magic – the group decides to scout the locale in bird form while the rest of the group presses on across the lava fields. Birds scout and spy an entrance into the caldera. Demming spies and is spied by a colossal red dragon. He tries to flee, but it polymorphs him into a fish, and he dies.As the dragon breathes its fiery breath on the group and endangers all, Barada’s ring discharges a disintegrate spell – and the threat is no more. Demming’s corpse is found and returned to life. All that remains is to gain entrance to the caldera, spy the 5 adult red dragons therein – and Dalliance nips back to the college to grab her orb/claw and stand of red dragon influence. With her item, she brokers the purchase of all the magic in the dragon’s lair, as well as safe passage for the group. The group spies various tunnels and sets off to explore them, avoiding for now the ledge guarded by the gargantuan fire elemental. A steep stair brings them to a large room full of corpses…
