Sphere in the side pocket – or- Daddy issues

The wyverns are vanquished but the troubles are not over. The sounds of battle have attracted a mob of cultists who rush the party along a narrow corridor – which earns them a lightning bolt for their troubles. Hot on their heels – and apparently unphased by huge amounts of electricity – are a pack of stick thin humanoids covered in acidic slime. They begin battling the party by casting dispel magic on the flying party members, managing to bring down a few. While they battle, these demons summon allies and soon the chamber is thick with the evil creatures. The cleric of Meilikki is brought down and gored by spears, but his noble death allows the rest to retreat a bit.
Some rest and repair in the extra-dimensional hidey-hole and they re-emerge to seek the object of their quest. Eventually they find their way toa large chamber where an Air Elemental guards the paladin’s daughter. The elemental is vanquished and the daughter is teleported reasonably close to home.
Now all that remains is the holy relic that the aforementioned wannabee appropriated from the temple complex.
They surprise and slay a medusa and her two consorts, open a door to a bedroom with an invisible liquidmetal figure floating above the bed and then promptly close said door – get attacked by some sort of strange creature from another dimension that they swiftly vanquish – find the cultists sleeping chambers and the three demons in human skin, but this time they slay them.
They continue down some stairs to a room gusting with winds, though far below the land’s surface…mayhap there is a gate to the elemental plane, or there could be a powerful elemental, or some other mage, demon, devil, warlock imbued with windy powers.
They advance…time to find out which way the wind blows. No weathermen needed.
